Elusive

e·lu·sive/iˈlo͞osiv/Adjective

1. Difficult to find, catch, or achieve.
2. Difficult to remember or recall.

ad·jec·tive/ˈajiktiv/

Noun: A word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

And so it is that the adjective I would use to describe my jewelry right now is elusive.

The pieces have been cut, filed, sanded, and lined up in a tray.  That is not my usual and I thought it would be a great way to be more productive when I do have time to be at “the bench.”

But the pieces stare at me every time I pass by and seem to call out like old friends I keep avoiding; friends I truly like and just don’t seem to be able to make time for.

This is starting to disturb me, concern me, and annoy me. (It is also creating some negative self-talk which we all know leads to no good!)

Why is it that many fall into this trap? We say we love something, know we love doing it, and then don’t do it?  Even this blog is being written instead of making a piece of jewelry.

Just for this moment I am going to give myself a break and celebrate the noticings and get ready for a week of creativity.

Stay tuned.

I’ll let you know how it goes!
